Spinal cord injury disrupts motor, sensory and autonomic pathways which, depending on the level and extent of neurological impairment, affect many aspects of the injured person’s life, including their sexuality.

Sexuality is a complex human phenomenon involving aspects of physiological and psychological functioning.

This document describes the psychosocial and physical aspects of sexuality, as well as sexual function. It is intended for clinicians to provide comprehensive management and education for people with spinal cord injury.
