Implementation of Advanced Radiotherapy Technology to Improve Clinical Outcomes in Rural NSW
After the successful implementation of quality improvement projects, the technology utilisation rate (intensity-modulated radiotherapy and volumetric modulated arc therapy) rose to over 70% in 2020, compared to below 22% in 2017 and stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy treatment is now available at Central West Cancer Care Centre, Orange.

No buts about it – hospital gown review
This project looked at how the most common hospital gown used in NSW public hospitals could be improved for patients, clinicians and the health system. Patients report that the hospital gown is unsuitable mostly due to the lack of modesty it provides. The gown does not meet the needs of clinicians, as it can interfere with intravenous lines and does not provide access to the patient’s upper torso. Taking ‘Baby Steps’ towards starting pregnancy care sooner
Five key solutions, targeting referral, bookings management and care delivery were co- designed with consumers with the aim of improving access and increasing the number of women commencing specialised antenatal care earlier in pregnancy.
