This tool and related resources support mental health services across NSW to understand their current capabilities around providing trauma-informed care, and take steps towards meeting the requirements outlined in the Trauma-informed Care in Mental Health Services Across NSW – A Framework for Change (PDF 510.8 KB).
These resources will support mental health leads in NSW local health districts to complete the self-assessment process and action planning. The tool aims to:
- identify areas of good practice and areas of need
- provide a common understanding of those involved in improving trauma-informed care
- provide guidance around development of a strategy to improve trauma-informed care practices and actions
- support project development.
