Transitional living program

A transitional living program is a specialised brain injury rehabilitation service for people with a brain injury. TLPs offer intensive residential rehabilitation in a home-like environment. People are given the opportunity to practice their independent living skills. TLPs are typically offered Monday-Friday. Clients return home for the weekend.

The program is tailored to meet the needs of each person to:

  • reduce the impact of impairments
  • learn and apply useful strategies for managing impairments in everyday living, decision making and social participation
  • establish local supports and needed services to maximise independence.

Seven transitional living programs are provided as part of the NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program.
