The Gynaecological Cancer Toolkit outlines recommended investigations, referral points, treatment considerations and monitoring.
It aligns with NSW models of care and national and international guidelines, including multidisciplinary team management and shared care.
Recommendations are clear and actionable to support clinical decisions and safe transfer of care. Multidisciplinary teams deliver coordinated care by addressing diagnostic, therapeutic, supportive and psychosocial needs together.
The toolkit promotes holistic, person-centred, culturally safe and inclusive care, with guidance for Aboriginal, culturally and linguistically diverse and LGBTIQA+ communities. Refer to the Australian Cancer Plan for other priority populations, including:
- people living in rural and remote areas
- people living with a disability
- people in lower socioeconomic groups
- people living with a mental illness
- older Australians
- adolescents and young adults
- children.
This toolkit updates the 2019 Gynaecological Cancer: A Guide to Clinical Practice in NSW.
Additional tumour streams covered in the 2019 edition of this resource, including uterine and vulval cancers and gestational trophoblastic disease, have not been revised as part of this update. A copy of the 2019 version is available on request via email at ACI-GynOncology@health.nsw.gov.au
