Meeting environment
- Set a regular meeting time and place.
- For in-person meetings, select a room that is a suitable size and layout.
- Select a location that is easy to access for all participants.
Technology and equipment
- Ensure adequate audiovisual and videoconferencing technology is available.
- Use software programs that allow participants to share and view of pathology, imaging and reports simultaneously across sites.
- Use a database or proformas to share and document agreed recommendations in real time.
Virtual etiquette
- Adhere to standard videoconferencing etiquette, e.g. remain on mute unless speaking and join the meeting from an appropriate location to maintain meeting confidentiality.
- Formalise etiquette in the MDT terms of reference.
- Maintain confidentiality. Do not share videoconferencing links with people not on the attendee list.
- The MDT coordinator maintains oversight of the virtual attendees.
