Diabetes foot assessment clinics run at Gosford, Woy Woy, Long Jetty and Wyong Hospitals and Erina Community Health Centre

About this service

  • Diabetes
  • Foot Ulcer/wound
  • Charcot neurarthropathy deformity (either acute or chronic)
  • Acute Lower limb ischemia with foot ulceration

Wound below the ankle or charcot's neuroarthropathy requiring specialist medical and multidisciplinary input

  • Multidisciplinary team includes:
    • Diabetes Educator
    • Dietitian
    • Endocrinologist
    • Orthopaedic Specialist
    • Orthotist
    • Podiatrist
    • Vascular Specialist
    • Wound Nurse Practitioner
  • Intervention provided:
    • Comprehensive assessment, intervention and education with clinician and MDT
    • Pressure off-loading footwear, devices
    • Preventative and Step down Podiatry services
  • Common referrals
    • Multidisciplinary Allied Health teams within hospital
    • Community based Allied Health
