Employer support is critical for a successful return to work for people with a brain injury.

Supporting an employee to return to work after a brain injury is good for the person and retains knowledge and experience within the business. It promotes a supportive workplace culture for employees.

This toolkit is for employers, managers, supervisors and colleagues who may be supporting an employee with a brain injury return to work.

The toolkit is divided into six sections. Use the tiles to explore the information in each section.

Introduction to the toolkit

The information in this toolkit provides details about brain injury and practical advice for supporting an employee with a brain injury. There are also links to organisations, services and resources available that can assist.

This resource is not designed to replace any part of the vocational rehabilitation process for a person returning to work following a brain injury. It is a resource to supplement the support employers receive from vocational rehabilitation providers and brain injury rehabilitation clinicians.
