Training and education

Clinicians must be confident in communicating via virtual modalities, and comfortable using the equipment and technology for virtual care to be effective.

Training and education is available to equip NSW Health staff with the skills they need to provide virtual care successfully.

Communication training

The Health Education and Training Institute (HETI), in partnership with the ACI and NSW Health staff, has developed a suite of training modules to enhance staff knowledge of virtual care and how to effectively communicate when providing virtual care. NSW Health staff can access the modules on My Health Learning or via direct links below:

Platform training

For all technology solutions, change and adoption support should include providing users with the appropriate education and training to build confidence before using the platform. A training environment (where possible) should also be provided to support new users to explore the functionality and practice without fear of doing something wrong or breaking the solution.
