Establishment of the mental health co-design committee

A committee was established to improve the therapeutic environment using a co-design approach with consumers and carers to reduce and where possible eliminate seclusion and restraint.

A co-design committee was established to collectively identify enhancements required for the therapeutic environment.

What worked well?

Fostering collaborative partnerships with consumers, carers and family members in the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of CCLHD services has strengthened the partnership between service provider and service user.

Service users were provided with the opportunity to identify enhancements to service delivery, ensuring the service is informed by the needs and perspectives of mental health consumers and carers.
