Patient-reported measures (PRMs) and symptom checkers specific to menopause enable clinicians to measure and monitor outcomes and experiences.
Patient-reported measures use patient feedback to support shared decision making and communication between the consumer and all members of the healthcare team. Using PRMs enables integrated care across all menopause service settings in NSW, including primary care and community settings.
NSW Health staff can administer PRMs and store results electronically in the Health Outcome and Experience (HOPE) platform. Changes over time and results collected in all settings will be visible to all HOPE users.
PRMs for menopause
Three PRMs have been endorsed for the menopause cohort:
- Menopause-Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire (MENQOL)
- Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21)
- Outpatient Patient Reported Experience Measure (Outpatient PREM)
Access to PRMs outside NSW Health
Staff working in primary care settings outside NSW Health (e.g. general practice, allied health, nursing) require the following for HOPE platform access:
- HOPE participation agreement
- designated log-in ID
- brief readiness assessment and onboarding training session.
