End of Life and Palliative Care Framework

The End of Life and Palliative Care Framework 2019-2024 sets out the vision and future direction for palliative and end of life care for people across NSW.

The Framework describes how people and services can work together to provide accessible, high quality end of life and palliative care.

The Framework reflects wide engagement with stakeholders, health professionals and community members.

It applies across all settings where end of life and palliative care is provided.

The Framework acts as an overarching structure to integrate key principles from multiple strategies, guidelines and standards related to end of life and palliative care.

It guides the direction of statewide policy and strategy relating to end of life and palliative care.

  • There is access to care providers across all settings who are skilled and competent in end of life and palliative care.
