This guide supports clinicians managing adult and paediatric patients who present to the emergency department with non-fatal strangulation.

Non-fatal strangulation is a potentially life-threatening injury. A person may present to the emergency department with this injury following trauma, deliberate self-harm or acts of violence from others.

The guide includes information on:
