Allied health professionals and you

Finding your way around the system

There are a lot of services available for people living with dementia and their carers and family.

There may be costs and charges. There may be support payments and concessions available.

However, it’s not easy to understand how health services, community services and aged care services work and fit together. And it’s not easy to find the ones that suit you best. It can be difficult to understand all the fees, costs and what support payment and concessions are available.

It is important that you find someone to help you get what you need – it can be a tricky process without someone who knows where to find information. Social workers and dementia advisors are experts on how these systems work. You can also talk to any experienced allied health professional for guidance.
