What was the percentage (%) of contaminated (non-clinical) waste in the last audit?
The clinical waste (yellow bag) bins are 2.5 times as expensive as general waste to process for waste management? Cytotoxic (purple) and pharmaceutical (red) bins are more expensive.
Your hostpital Waste Management Committee (WMC) can provide advice about the clinical waste audit. Waste auditing can be done by the external waste management contractor.
Using a closed fluid waste management system reduces cost and volume of clinical waste by removing fluid waste from the 'yellow bag'. It can also reduce the generation of plastic waste through the reuse of the plastic canisters.

LED lights are the best energy saving choice. They should be turned off if not needed for more than 15 minutes. Traditional incandescent lights use the most electricity, and most of the energy used is heat. Halogen lights should be turned off when not in use.
