Spinal Cord Injury Model of Care

The State Spinal Cord Injury Service (SSCIS) has commenced the development of a new model of care for the management and support of children and adults with a spinal cord injury in NSW.

Phase 1 - diagnostic

In line with the ACI methodology, after a project initiation phase the first stage in the development of a model of care is a ‘diagnostic’ review which then leads to solution design and implementation of a more detailed improvement process. This report on the diagnostic phase aims to better understand spinal cord injury management systems and practices and to identify needs of consumers and evidence-practice gaps in service provision.

Phase 2 - development

The second and current phase of the project is to develop the model of care and recommendations for the way forward.
