Trauma Informed Transformations: Innovations in COVID
The aim of the Trauma-Informed Care and Practice (TICP) project is to improve outcomes and experience for people who access mental health services in NSW through the development and evaluation of evidence-based strategies and approaches to promote a trauma-informed health system that recognises the impact of trauma and promotes resilience and healing.
As part of this project, the Network is holding a webinar series, Trauma-informed transformations, to present TICP project findings, showcase best practice, and more.
Cultural and psychological safety are two focus areas for change in the TICP project. This theme will be analysed in the context of NSW Health mental health services, and its impact on trauma informed care for consumers, peer support workers, clinicians, managers, communities, and other stakeholders.
This webinar will present on:
- The NSW Health Services Aboriginal Cultural Engagement Self Assessment Tool for supporting health services assess the delivery of culturally safe and accessible health services for Aboriginal patients and clients
- The psychological safety for mental health clinicians, and its impact through COVID-19
- Innovations and roles of peer workers supporting cultural and psychological safety in NSW Health
- Mindfulness and meditation sessions throughout the event
- And more

This event is free, and welcomes all NSW Health clinicians and managers, Aboriginal organisations, people with a lived experience of mental health problems, community-managed organisations, and anyone else who has an interest in trauma-informed care in mental health services in NSW.
