This section lists funding opportunities that are available to healthcare professionals to apply for to undertake research and projects either through the ECI or other bodies. These include:
Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI)
This is the new ECI Collaborative Research Application pathway.
Researchers may approach the ACI (via the Emergency Care Institute) with proposals to support projects or partner in applications that will leverage additional funding from other sources of research funding, e.g. NHMRC Partnerships for Better Health projects and ARC Linkage Projects. Requests can be made of the ACI for financial, reputational and in-kind support. To ensure the ACI provides a fair review of approaches made by researchers to support their work.
All emergency research applications must be considered by the ECI Research Advisory Committee prior to the ACI Committee considering the application.
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is Australia's peak body for supporting health and medical research; for developing health advice for the Australian community, health professionals and governments; and for providing advice on ethical behaviour in health care and in the conduct of health and medical research.
