The artwork is titled ‘Deep within’ and references the pigments of land and soil between coastal and inland regions of NSW.

The earth tones of ochre and soils are interwoven through patterns of river streams and circular currents to acknowledge the connection between saltwater and freshwater people.

The artwork uses cultural motifs that reference waterholes, meeting places and gatherings, which are interpreted through continued cultural practices for community who share, exchange, learn and teach.
