The model for organising the health worker support is based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. The pyramid representing these needs has been adapted to reflect the potential challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health workforce.
Effective leadership is critical at all levels of the pyramid and is an additional layer represented in this model.
The aim of the Pandemic Kindness Movement is to provide health workers with easy access to curated resources to enable them to access the support they need. You can explore the pyramid by selecting the different needs: basic needs, safety, love and belonging, esteem, contribution and leadership actions.
Share pandemic kindness resources with Australian health workers who need support during this time. Posters to print or use on digital screens are available to download.
If you have a question, would like to provide feedback or suggest resources to include on the Pandemic Kindness Movement webpages, please email: ACI‑kindness@health.nsw.gov.au
