  • Don’t use images in a purely decorative sense.
  • Don’t use third-party images without copyright approval and proper attribution.
  • Include a caption and alt text for all images.
  • Ensure that your images are tagged with the appropriate metadata to enhance site-wide search functionality.

File Names

When uploading images to the CMS, please ensure the file name of the image:

  • is in small letters (no capitals).
  • contains no spaces - use dashes to separate words (eg. "website-team-photograph.jpg").
  • contains letters and numbers only.
  • contains reference to a key size, where duplicates of different pixel sizes exist (eg. "website-team-photograph-600.jpg").
  • is not too long - keep the number of characters in the file name to under 32.
  • Always add alternate text to the image when uploading it to the website.

Upload Locations

Images should be uploaded to a specific location under the Resources website.
