The ACI is hosting daily Lunch & Learn sessions from Friday 22 - Friday 29 October, between 12:30-1:00pm. During these sessions we welcome a range of guests (clinicians, consumers, and telehealth managers / leads) to talk about their insights and experiences with virtual care.

Program

  • Moderator: Karol Petrovska - Director Virtual Care, Ministry of Health
  • 12:30pm to 1pm: Consumer Experience with Matt Roger, Brigitte Iacus-Pisco, David Follent, Kelly Foran
  • Matt Roger

Matt is 47 years old, married with two kids (17 and 15). He lives with the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis. He was originally diagnosed with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis in July 2001, moving to the Secondary Progressive phase in 2013.

Matt meets his neurological and mobility challenges enthusiastically with regular exercise, determined to live with the challenges of MS with a positive outlook. He is a keen advocate for people with a disability.

    Brigitte Iacus-Pisco
Brigitte was diagnosed with Histiocytosis X, a rare lung disease, at the age of 30. She has lived with the disease without issues until recently; lung function tests earlier this year revealed the disease had progressed and she was told that her lungs were now severely damaged. She requires a lung transplant within the next 1-2 years. In preparation of her lung transplant, Brigitte commenced the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at the Prince of Wales hospital in Randwick. The program used to take place face to face in the hospital gym, however since June 2021 they moved to virtual sessions. Brigitte will join us to talk about her experiences with virtual care.
